When the weather starts to get cooler and the leaves begin
to change I know it’s officially time for high school, college and pro
football. If we are in the car weekdays from 2-6 mommy makes me listen to Paul
Finebaum. I don’t understand why – she seems to hate him and usually ends up
yelling at the radio and beating the steering wheel while shouting “stupid bama
fans”. Daddy always has the TV turned on to whatever football game might be on.
We are for sure a football family. We eat, sleep and breathe Oxford and Auburn football
during the season. My daddy is a coach on the freshmen team and charts play’s for
the Varsity on Friday nights. Mommy has only let me go to one Varsity game this
year. I’m not sure why- all I want to do
is run on the field and chase the ball with the big boys but apparently that is
frowned upon. My daddy had his first home game Monday night but I couldn't go. I have a sinus infection and a double ear infection so they thought I should stay home. My best friend Elly went
to the game with me and our mommies made us wear matching outfits.
Auburn football is another one of our passions but so far
they aren’t doing well this season and my daddy is a little depressed. My Big
Sam has taught me to yell “roll tide” and I say it at the most inappropriate
times. I think its funny to say it in Walmart, when the other team scores against Auburn or when we are eating dinner. Mommy and daddy are trying really
hard to break me of this bad habit but my Big Sam keeps making it worse.
